Most of us get the concept - ‘You Get What You Focus On’. It seems pretty straight forward. Focus on what you want and it manifest in your life, right?
Then why do so many things that we don't want keep showing up? That’s a great question, so let’s take a look.
First, I want you to read this one more time:
‘You Get What You Focus On’
That means you get exactly what you focus on - whether it's positive or negative. If you are focussing on it, more of it will manifest. In other words anything you focus on is what you will have more of, including:
If you are someone who has been focussing on paying down debt, for example, what you will end up with is more debt, simply because debt is what you have been focussing on. The same is true for anything else. If you are focussing on having less stress, stress is what manifests because that is what you have your attention on.
The question is ‘If I am focussing on something I don’t want, and that is what I am manifesting in my life, then how do I change it?' Since the context of my work here is resetting your Financial Thermostat, let’s look at Debt.
Rather than debt, shift your focus, attention and intention to manifesting wealth. Inside of that, you can then create plans for paying down the debt, but debt is never your primary focus - manifesting wealth is.
As you make the shift in this, and other areas of your life, you will start to see over time a massive change in what shows up. It won’t happen overnight. It will take some time, so don’t give up and be sure to keep it present for yourself day and night.
Here is my formula for making this shift:
Each time you make this declaration, close your eyes and allow the thoughts, feelings and emotions that come with actually having that wealth come through. Really get present to how you will feel when you have that wealth. By experiencing the emotions in the present you are actually creating for yourself having manifested that thing now. The stronger those emotions are the more powerful it is.
If you are going to shift your focus, you want to surround yourself with reminders of what you are now focussing on and get present to how it will feel to actually have what it is you want - now. And, when old, negative thoughts pop into your head (and they will), just let them be and redeclare what you are focussing on out loud while getting present to the emotions of actually having what you want right now. You must intentionally generate what you are focussing on - rather than letting your random and preprogrammed thoughts determine it for you.
You can apply this to any area of your life. The key is to keep it present for yourself by managing what thoughts and feelings you indulge, and what conversations you have with yourself and others.
The magic is when you look back at how it was vs how it is. You will see the incredible shift your life has taken simply by bringing into focus what it is you really want to manifest in your life - right now.
